    Satin clearcoat

I've noticed some people are using flat paints on their bikes and wheels but I think I have just found a better solution- go down to your local harley dealer and check out the new bikes with the satin clearcoat. The clearcoat dries to a satin finish which you can wax but it still remains somewhat flat. It should be much easier to keep clean without marking up the paint (which flat paint sometimes does when you scrub it). I'm guessing that if harley is using this clearcoat it must be available in rattle cans from the auto parts store... I like the look and will be using it when I finally decide on a color for this beast

    from what I understand
primer will scuff easy and also fade after time

proper single stage flat or satin finish auto paint will work fine and be somewhat easier to maintain and get a longer lifespan than primer finishes

never looked into a multi stage clear coat system with a satin or flat finish.
seems like your adding more layers when you don't really need them. unless you want to clear over decals or multi color paint jobs.

while at first glance, i go "eew" from the mishmash of color, i do have to say... your bike looks really clean.. lol.

i only wish i could get my motor looking that nice and clean, but the only way thats going to happen is if i pull it out... (paint is going/gone on most alot of the motor.. covers need to come off to be polished... ect..)
