    ducati 916 tail?

hello, first time poster, long time lurker. have a friend who is parting out his busted 916, and was thinking about buying his rear cowl. know alot of people have done the monster tail or the hiperform race tail, but was wondering if anyone had tried the 916 and could offer any suggestions, hints...

    thanks!

Didn't Duhawki have the 916 tail?

I am sure there are some pics in the pics section.

no, it has the hiperform tail... i double checked, since i have a ton of pics from it on my PC...

the dude the put the ENTIRE ducati bodywork on there (including tank) is the only one ive seen with the 916 tail... and all i know is that he has a custom subframe.

yeah, looked at the duhawki (ah, what i could do with more money) and it does look like he's using his own custom subframe. the only thing that i could find with the 916 tail was here, third from the bottom-

This site is dedicated to the Honda Hawk GT / BROS motorcycles. It contains performance modifications, photo album with thumbnail previews, and links to many other NT650 and NT400 resources.

which does look like he's using the stock subframe. but if i throw the 916 tail on, i was gonna try for the hiperform undertail exhaust, which can't be done with the stock subframe.

i would go with the hiperform, but my girlfriend would kill me if i didn't take her for weekend rides.

        thanks for the input!

I'm in the process of putting the Duc Mono tail section on mine right now... I'm almost done, will have some pretty good pics when completed. It's going surprisingly easy...

Seems like the tailsection is the best medium to put our mark of originality into our Hawks.Waiting for pics!

I seem to recall that there was a 3/4 size 916 tail piece, called I think a 687.

Other UK listers may be able to help me out here.

Personally I think the 916 is too large...plus, over here at least, it's been done to death.

Yup, I've got it sitting on the mock up right now and it is pretty large looking, but once it's all painted and matching and all, I think It will look nice.... Plus, gotta get my VFR wheel machined and get it on, I think that will help a bit too...

The carrier setup looks like a cush drive eliminator, a race part offered back in the 90's, I don't recall who made them though.
