    Taking shocks apart...

Hey I am switching out my stock rear for the 900rr one. I got the shocks just need to tear them down Whats the trick to getting the shocks off? I saw car spring clamps are to big. Any home garage "Red Green" way of getting them off?

I once used wire coat hangers to compress my springs on my VW.

-Sent mine to a place that rebuilds motorcycle shocks, so no help here. But jeeepers, if you do find a way to do it at home --- be very careful. 1300lbs for every inch of compression is nothing to take lightly. Dont forget the new spring spacer when the shock goes back together.

-If Buckleys cold mixture went rancid......how would anybody know????

I got the spacer drilled and ready to go... just need to switch out the springs.

Anyone got the tool I could borrow? Would paypal you some $ as a marker for it.

I went to a shop. They did it in a few minutes (included grinding seat to fit good and putting in spacer etc.) and charged me $25.00. Alot for five minutes but I had NO way of doing it myself
