    Stock fender + F2 Forks?

Hey guys. I just bought a set of F2 forks on ebay. Total "buy it now" impulse buy... I've been shopping for a set and they always seem to go for a lot of money, so I'm glad I jumped on this set!

Anyhoo... I still need some other parts, like a brake system, front wheel, etc. But I'm wondering about the fender... I just replaced my blue fender with a still-in-the-wrapper-from-1988 NOS part. It's all nice and shiney, and I'd hate to have to take it off. I really want to keep the "stock" look to the bike.

So, I'm thinking that it might be possible to fab up some adapters to mate the F2 fork sliders with the Hawk fender. Can anyone chime in? Is the stock fender too narrow to accept the 120 CBR wheel?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Hey Rob, I have a stock fender and an f3 front in the garage. I will check the fit but I do think the stock is too narrow.

Just checked. It will fit and is NOT too narrow. You gonna have to make some spacers and brackets though.

                I went the hard way.
I cut and filed the f'ing lugs clean off of the F2 lowers and machined 2 half round clamps that have the same style as the cast mount on the Hawk lowers. Will post pic.

The fender does not get pulled out of shape at all.
The forks are of course on the same centerline, the clamps have enough 'offset' to match the outside dimension of the fender. The fender has the steel frame with the tapped holes inside.
