Lame question about clipons - f3 on hawk.

Ok..I have f3 clipons or whatever not completely installed, but they are sitting on there. Now, there is that tiny umm..bump or knob thing that goes against the other bump (holy crap that sounds retarded) which prevents the clipon from moving. Do you guys know what i am talking about?
On the f3 clipon that thing is at a different location so it doesnt fit into the stock spot for the clipons. Did you grind that thing off? Is just clamping it on tight enough? How did you guys deal with that? Am i nuts?

do you mean the tab on the throttle clamp? if so, just drill a hole in the f3 clipons in the appropriate spot and presto - the "bimp" will fit.

If not, try taking some pics of what you are speaking of.

Or you can find a complete F3 front end... I got mine for 200 bucks + shipping on ebay!
It's scary how slow I am!

If you're talking about the tab that sticks down and keeps the whole clip on from rotating on the fork leg, you can grind that off. If you crash, the clip on can rotate into the tank instead of bending the bar, but for normal riding, it clamps tight enough.

ross, that is exactly what i am talking about..
That sucks about the handle going into the tank, but thats kinda what I assumed it would do. I guess there is no better way to do that though, without getting a whole f3 front end?

I suppose you could just get the upper triple clamp from an F3, but then you'd have to deal with the lack of any mounts for the guages (but then you'd have this problem with the whole front end, also).
