    The speedo and starting..

Well, this might be a completely stupid question. But, do you havta have the instrument cluster hooked to the bike in order to start it? I believe I have everything hooked up but i get no power to anything with a new battery. The cluster as you may have guessed it is not hooked up. Have i undone something somewhere, or does the cluster need to be in the line for everything to get power??
    thanks!!!!

I hope not... I was planning on doing that, and substituting a pushbike speedo!

I really doubt it. I would go through the wiring and check to make sure that everything critical is connected though. I know the cluster isn't a critical system component, but I dont know if that's how they're wired.
      I know I dreamed you,
      A sin and a lie.
      I have my freedom,
But I don't have much time.
      Faith has been broken,

      Let's do some living,
      After we die.
