    Washing

Newbie question... is it safe to pressure wash the bike or do you need to cover any parts? Do's and don'ts??

Why pressure wash are you trying to get something sticky off? Usualy just a hose after cleaning rear with crc heavy cleaner and brass brush.

Cos it's quicker!! Haven't had time to really clean the bike since I got it (and it needed a good clean) Reckoned that a pressure wash was the way to go (hot soapy water) to get the bulk of the grime off easily.

          Power wash

Where Roberto and I live the roads are dirty, old and full of pot holes, it also rains muck here. its very hard to keep a naked bike clean. I have power washed it few times and afterwards it would still needs more work.

Never a more true word spoken!

Don't think it should be a problem... if there are any I'll report back. It's not going to be a show bike... it's a daily driver.

Stay away from the tach / temp gauge. Notorious for getiing a bit of moisture and fogging up. For that matter, just put a plastic bag over the entire gauge cluster.

The best thing for me to get heavy grease off is Spray Nine and a nylon bristled brush (dish brush). Afterwards you are left with a greasy mess, just use a garden hose to wash it away to clean.

Tell me about it. My tach is clear until the bike warms up and then it mists over like anything. Any idea how to remedy this or will this dry out over summer? I will be avoiding wet weather and the bike is covered when not in use.

That's the answer I was looking for.

Fogging of the tacho is fairly common from what I've read on here. Silica gel packets inside the casing seem to be a good cure.
