    Where do most Hawks make peak Torque in first gear?

    At what RPM?


    Hord? Anyone?

    Found this in an old "Hawkworks" mag but doesn't say what gear.
    This is for a Stock engine

      "Peak" torque is a bit of misnomer, because as shown above, the torque numbers are essentially the same across a 4000rpm range. Torque (if defined as twisting force measured at the crankshaft) is also independent of the gear ratio.

      I assume what you really want to know, as a racer, is "what is the best launch rpm for the Hawk?" I used to launch at about 7000rpm and immediately go to WOT.

        Right on the nose JD!

        I was reading something on how keeping it at redline was not a good idea and wondered what a good RPM would be to start.

        I'll try 7000. Thanks!
