Found a solution for a Viable Choke Option

Well...i am not using the left elec controls from the Hawk on my track bike, so I have been trying to figure out how to retain the choke...but do away with assembly...well I had the idea of using a Front der. MTB shifter with some slight modification ....what i had to do was to slot the shifter to allow the cable to pass through , i had to slot the shifter 3 times, outer housing , lever and the base....this shifter was the cheapest thing out there , about 3 dollars...but seems to work fine...i just have to make a decision on where to place it...i am prob going to utilize the threaded rivnut on the left side of the frame , and make sure i fab my body work to allow access to the lever...all i have to do to make it perfect is to fab a small slotted spacer to take up a little of the slack....i could have used a higher end shifter with a barrel adjuster, but this is after all , just a choke lever..but all it needs to do is go full on and full off with out issue and this it does sufficiently enough for me.

Good job. I have my choke cable looped and zip tied out of the way until I find time to fix it right. When I rebuillt and rejetted my carbs this winter and put on the pod filters, I have yet to need my choke to start my bike up. But with late fall I am sure it will be necessary. Keep me updated.
