Installing Factory Kit and need some help!!

I got my factory kit and race tech emulators today from Hord. I had completely forgotten about the need to stretch the spring. The stretching I'm ok with, it's the oven part i'm going to have difficulty with. They don't really have ovens over here in Japan, at least I don't have one nor does anyone I know. I have a gas grill setup which may be able to get to the temperature although it won't be either even or stable heat.

Does anyone have any idea how precise I need to be with the spring. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Also I forgot to get oil for my unipods and this is my only free weekend for a month. Do any of you use or can you recommend another oil in case my bike shop doesn't stock any specific filter oil.

The weather's finally here and my fears of not having the bike ready for a spin up the mountains on Sunday is really starting to come on strong.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm sure the BBQ will work fine. I doubt you can get the spring too hot... within reason. May want to get a meat thermometer if the bbq doesn't have a temp gauge on it... keep it above the recommended temp.

    No toaster ovens either?

I just sprayed K&N filter oil on it... as for another subsitute, I don't know.

      Hey Bill,

Thanks for the quick reply, I do have something which I suppose could technically be called a toaster oven. It costs about 11 dollars new and has a simple element above and below a metal grill. I might get my hands on a meat thermostat and try use that.

I have a good auto store locally, hopefully they have some sort of kandN filter oil for the car variety (I'm assuming it's the same stuff)

      Thanks again.

try boiling water for a more even distribution of heat you should be able to do that on a stove top burner

im not sure if this is ok but you should be able to use wd-40 for filter oil.
if nothing else just using that and find a better solution later should be fine.
