    Vapor mounting ideas?

So I got a vapor gauge but have not decided on how to mount it.
Anyone care to share their mounting techniques?

One specific concern I have though is making sure it is on there good.

Most of my saddle time seems to come in the form of commuting and I work in downtown Seattle. Therefore I don't want to make it eay for some jackass to just rip it off and go.

Hopefully I can get this thing on soon so can ditch the monster gauges.

    Thanks

i plan to screw the back of it to a small piece of sheetmetal, and then using either that piece of sheetmetal or some pencil rod, extend it out to connct to the two bolts that hold the ignition switch on.... kinda sandwiched in there.

but im only doing that because i dont have the nice gauge mounting bosses that stock fork hawks have.

yep... that's pretty much my plan too. I've got the piece of stainless plate already cut, with a slight bend in it.
Then I ordered the indicator dash for the unit... so I'm waiting for that now.

I fitted mine to a length od stainless tube (Polished obviously) fitted 2 end caps to finish it off.
then I 'P' cliped it to the mounting holes of the original set of clocks.
The pictures are on page 2 of mechanical and technical.
        Cheers

I fastened mine to a length of polished stainless tube with end caps and fastened that to the original clock mounting holes with 2 'P' clips

Well here is what I have:

It is just made of 24g galvinized. I am going to redo it with a nice thick aluminum peice, the 24g is a little flimsy, plus the aluminum would look and last longer. This isn't a stock triple tree it's mounted to, but it should work the same since I am using the ignition mounts from the hawk

very nice... similar to what i plan to do.

ive already done something similar for the headlight... the lower clamp has a bracket on it, and i have a sheetmetal bracket in the same place as you have that Vapor mounted.... then using pencil rod i made a neat little headlight mount... the idea being that it blends in with the other wires/cables and isnt easily seen... just looks like nothings really holding the headlight there...

i plan to attach my vapor to that upper mount that i have on the ignition lock.. similar to yours

                Very Nice Steven!

I am going to have to see that bike in person.

By the way, again it is the first wed of the month.

If it is not raining to hard I am heading down to Georgetown to the VintageMotorcycleEthusiasts meeting after work.

You should drop by and check it out.
