well im stupid... busted radiator getting the fan off...

my fan is broken.. mmk, no big deal. i'll find a replacement fan.

    *drop.*

now my fan is broken, and my radiator leaks.

so, what is the normal upgrade path for the radiator?
from what ive been reading, you need to upgrade the radiator when you start heavily modifying the hawk... so i might as well do it now.

any bolton replacements? reccomendations? i need the radiator and fan.

(oh and if you suggest one from another bike, be sure to give me a years span or something LOL.)

top row of the radiator has a leak somewhere...
radiator was tweaked a couple years ago... some asshat tried to steal a backpack from my parked bike, not realizing that it had a cargo net over it... flip, bike falls over..
with the endtank covers on, you dont really notice its tweaked, but with the radiator out, you can see the twist in it.

in anycase... the top part of it leaks now, and i need a new fan.
i might be able to get this radiator fixed if i cant find a good deal on a better one... but i really need a new fan.

old fan was trash... took the motor apart, so much corrosion in there that im not going to be able to fix it.

so at the very least, i need a fan.. i know where i can get the radiator brazed/welded/whatever.

          thanks for the info.

now, i just need to decide... buy another stock fan and fix this radiator... or buy one from a diffrent bike..

on one hand, i like the stocker... on the otherhand, i dont want problems when i put a 700cc kit and cams in.

you might be able to buy a new fan motor i broke a blade off of my fan a a few years ago. i just bought the blades. much cheaper than buying a hole new one or finding a used one in good shape.

i say for a stock look with alot more cooling use a magna from the late 80's, you can get those cheap.

Not to hijack... misery loves company and all....
A few years ago I had a custom 4 core rad built. Paid prob around $300 for it. Got it home, needed to drill a small hole in the top support to attach it to the jeep. The bit caught, and the put a hole in the tubes in middle of the top row.
The builder tried to fix it, but in the end I needed to get another core for it... yay

I won't even get into what I did to the $700 custom aluminum rad... lets just say that a work bench made of 2x6's stops a driverless Jeep quite quickly. Lukily that one was repairable.

yea i can get just the motor... 19030-mn8-010..... but its $161.38 from service honda... and more elsewhere. lol.

i just have to find a source for the magna radiator i guess...

that wont solve youe fan problem. unless you plan on running without? and that would be fine 90% of the time. traffic in the summer sucks even with the magna rad with stock fan.

but what bike wont overheat sitting in traffic in 95 deg. heat?

                    my hawk never did....
i need the bike to be able to stay cool in traffic.... i want to occasionally commute with it..... along with the usual messing around. and the occasional trackday.
