    FWIW, you can adapt rearset from the older CBR's and even cheaper still, run an adapter plate like I did. It's cheap and lets you vary it's position for adjustability. Look for the 89 Hawk at www.oldrice.com for pics. And yeah, you should certainly check out Li'l Jo's hawk too. Sweet bike!

    Custom rearsets - a quest for a cheap alternative

    Alright... I think everyone can agree we all want an alternative to the rearsets on the Hawk. It can't be that difficult to take a plan to a machine shop and have something made. If anyone has any insight or hints before I start on this project I would love any assistance.

    What my plan is to create a layout that is drafted out all nice with measurements you can print off and take to a local machinist. The kit that is sold for $200 looks simple enough and it doesn’t seem it should cost more than $50 to do.
