    What metal is the right hand side casing made of?
    Does it a have that clear hard varnish over it.
    just finished polishing the rear wheel looking for another job.

    I'm just in the process of doing this myself. I assume you are referring to the crank case cover or the other side? I think it is aluminium. I asked the exact same question the other day. As far as I am aware it is a layer of lacquer. It takes a hell of a lot of elbow grease to remove it though.

      Ya the case over the clutch
      I was thinking it was aluminium when I tried to clean it got no where.
      I think you can use oven cleaner to remove the varnish will try it will my spare one

        Yeah, I've been using an all purpose cleaning paste that is mildly abrasive. I probably need something a bit more abrasive such as an oven cleaner, as you say.
