    Removing Ignition switch?!?

    So anyone have a good tip on getting the bolts out on the ignition switch. I want to get my Vapor mounted buut need to get that off first.
    Those damb star drives are welded in there. I have been soaking them in WD40 for a day or two and they still won't budge.

    Maybe it's the crappy tool I am using?

    Anyone else have this problem?

    mine was an alan key, not torx.... came out with some tapping

      Get some penetrating oil, such as the magical Marvel Mystery Oil (I miss that stuff), or Plus Gas. When you apply it, try tapping the bolts with a hammer. You'll want to hit then fairly firmly. The vibrations help the oil to seep in, as well as help to break the threadlock compound. If the bike isn't in everyday use, it might be worth inverting the top yoke and soaking, so as to help draw the oil down the bolts rather than up. It will also be easier to get at the buggers. Mine have been 'stuck' each time I've taken them off and I've needed a cheater pipe on my torx key.

        Try applying heat too.

          I had one come out easy and had to drill the other one out. It's easer with the to tripple off.

            I ended up getting one of them out with a little heat.

            The other I had to drill out. I never like that but it always works in the end.
