    cleaning uni-pods

What is the best method/way to clean uni-pod filters? Should i just use water or one of those air filter cleaning solutions?

    Thank you

I just use the K&N kit that has both the cleaner and the oil in the one box. It's been used in my car, truck and bike, never a problem.

      Hey Yusef,
You should use the air cleaner kit. The oil and residue that collects on the air filters are hydrophobic in nature (fat/oil loving). In order to really clean them off you need a solvent, or something that acts like a detergent (the cleaner), then you have to re-oil the filter with air filter oil so that it still traps that crap in the air so it doesn't collect into your carbs. So definitely get the air filter cleaner/oil set for like $15-20 because it will last you probably a couple of years, but your bike will love you for it.

I use paraffin to clean and some nice blue sticky filter oil to oil it back up.

I've always just cleaned with lots of dishsoap and water, dried with an air hose, and re-oiled with light oil. Works fine for me.
