    rear tire size

Must have been discussed a million times, but can I get a bit of quick advice. Is it better to run a 160 rear or 150? I have been using a 160, but local tyre man say a 150 will make it handle better. At the moment it gets really vague at the edge of the tire. And what size is the 150?
    Cheers

Ok, I'll have to answer that question myself I've ordered a 150 and I'll see how it works out

it will handle a million times better with the 160.

not because of the profile, but because the 160 is availible in modern sportbike rubber compounds..... while the 150 (if you find one) is not a cutting edge performance tire.

the bike will not lose its "crispness" that makes it such a easily tossed bike.. SOME 170 tires do that... but the fact that you can even run a 170 on there tells ya a 160 isnt maxing out the rim or anything.

as far as i know, everyone on here is running a 160 rear tire.

I'm just impatient! I've ordered a Bridgstone BT021 which is their latest rubber so should be ok.

What did you find with this size rear tire? Or did you use it?

Hawks are the most fun IMO with a 150/60 rear.Of course it's a shorter sidewall than stock but you should already have some more ride height in back anyway.

In the end I didn't need a new tyre! I only glanced at it and expected to need a new one for the MoT but it's got miles left in it. It's a 160 a present and I've been making the edges blue this morning. Cranked over at 100mph and opening the throttle - joy!
