      hi

great news glad you got the motor?your bros is it a mk2 or mk1? it's a good starting point. there won't be many parts you will have to change ,possible carbs most def the cdi unit the coils are the same as the bros so they can stay,as far as the oil cooler if the pipes of the sandwich plate are there,as a tempoary measure you could get some oil pipe hand cut of the cooler just before the unions ,just connect the ends together with the oil pipe quick and easy fix until a permanent solution can be found.

Bros is 89 mk1, there's nothing attached to the oil filter just a couple of holes
I know the carbs are the same for 650 and 400 bros/hawk, but not AT?

Steep learning curve for me here

            hi

you will need the complete cooler asembly which retails at about £110 give or take a few quid ...,sad you have to butcher the f..king thing to fit? standard zorst will fit but will be quiet resticted...

going back to the carbs i see no reason why you can't stick with the bros/hawk carb setup, least you will have more tuning options with them and you could stick with the standard air box slightly modded

                      electrics

                      hi

just been looking at the manuel, before getting any other electrical parts, such as extra coils, fit the motor, using the coils from the bros connect it up and see if it fires, also looking at the picture of the inside clutch cover it's the same as mine, might just work and save time, lose nothing by trying.. also where abouts are you in the uk if you don't mind me asking?

No idea of the mileage, but I know it's an RD04 1990-93 motor and it's not been in a bike for 5+ years... but it's been stored inside by the looks of it

It turns over ok, seems like good compression, gears change allright

                        So...now I need a CDi box for a pre 96 Africa + 4 coils...(correct?)
And an oil cooler and lines...

I'll rejet the Bros carbs initially, might use individual filters though.

                            hi

if you want to go really mental you could go the route of fitting the rear-rear head combo to squeeze more gee-gee's out of it...just a thought?
