    F2 Fork Modifications Questions

I have just purchased a 1988 650 Bros from Japan. I have a F2 front end that I would like to install. Having read through the forum, I do have a couple of questions.
    1) The piston on the F2 has 2 holes, is it recommended to weld up one of the holes on the F2? (Like the Hawks forks).
    2) In keeping the stock F2 spring, should I cut a couple of coils off the bottom of the spring and put a longer spacer in?
    3) And last but not least, if I do, what weight oil should I put in. I assume 15 weight.
    I weigh 190 with gear.
I am setting this bike up for track days only, and I know that I should be putting Race Tech springs and emulators in but I just ordered a Penske rear shock and slicks so there’s no money left.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Terry

Thanks Doc, it's soo nice to hear that on a mod..."Bolt em on and run em". Too easy.

Unless they are 94 forks (cartridge), the f2 and hawk forks are identical except for the caliper-mounts on the lowers. All the same tweaks that would apply to stock Hawk forks would apply here.
