I searched and could only find threads about modifying the Hawk spindle to accept a VFR wheel, what has to be done to modify a VFR spindle to work on the Hawk swingarm?
800 doesn't fit. 750 does but you need the 750 brake plate, disc and caliper and you'll need a spacer (couple of big washers really) on the cush side, plus a tiny bit of grinding to the disc bolts to get the wheel on. Simple enough.

Front: Bros Mk2 front wheel; Mk1 forks; MetalGear disc; NC30 caliper; cb1 yoke.
Breathing: Hacked up and shortened ART tri-can on collector and link pipe from DemonTweeks.
Other: RGV bars; DefT dash; modded subframe; modded rearsets; relocated ignition.
HPW,
I have no clue about the VFR spindle but I'd suggest that you simply use a Hawk spindle and get it machined.
You will need to turn down the 'nose' bit that sticks out and press in studs instead of the 'pins' that locate the standard wheel.
Then if you are trying to be a poseur and use the 5.5" wheel and a 180 tyre you will have to dremel a bunch of meat off your wheel!!
We can do the mod on your Hawk spindle if you need it. We offer the whole package or can just modify your spindle. http://www.hiperform.com/vfr_wheel_conversion.htm
Trying to modify a VFR spindle is a uphill battle.
I've read somewhere that if you use the VFR spindle you need some spacers as the thread on the spindle is not as long as the Hawk but some
engineering shops can grind the thread a bit more and therefore you will not need the spacers. Mind you only a keen eye will spot its a VFR spindle.
