    Exhaust idea

I have seen this done at some point on a Hawk, but I can no longer find it. If it was someone out there, could you give your feed back. What would be the pro's or con's of going with a system like this?

I am not sure what the back pressure effects would be on the engine, even with the slip in mufflers (too lean? not enough back pressure? etc.). Would I need to change to pods, new jetting?? The good would be the nice clean look it would provide. I just want to get rid of the huge bulk that is underneath the bike with the stock can. I would like a nice system, but always price has everything to do with it. This seems like a good alternative until I can pony up some cash. Any ideas??

It'd be way too loud. I ran without a can for a week when I put on my Hawk Connection Left Exit slipon and it was obnoxous enough it gave me a head ache while riding. The turned-outs would be brutal. Plus you'd loose tons of back pressure and I imagine the back firing could risk bending a valve.

JR, have you had any major problems with that exhaust you have on your bike like what was posted above you? The whole thing is, I do not want to do damage to my motor. I guess I want the best of both worlds.

          Sorry,
thats not my bike. I know a few Hawk owners have copied the Buell
and put the silencer under the engine.

custom is always awesome but if you're going to run turn-downs, you need to have some muscle to back up the noise...otherwise your just another noisy loser.

Thinking of exhausts...anyone got a stock can lying around?

I have stock headers and back. The horn has a small crease where someone dropped the bike. No scratches tho..

                PM if u are interested.

hmmm....I need a pretty straight can...I'm not sure it'd work for what I'm doing anyway. Wanting to build an underbody system for my TL...not sure if the Hawk's can will hold 60mm plumbing.

The dent is under the peg. Of course it is all attached to the muffler.
