Reminds me of a time, that before riding my bike to work one very cold winter morning I decide to wash the road salt off the bike. Half way to work with a wind chill factor below zero I decided to stop for fuel. Then when I decided to continue my journey the bike would not start. I checked all the common things but still refused to start. What I think had happened is that some water had frozen behind the start button and was preventing it making contact.

Easy fix!! Get an F3 piece! You'll have to get a new banjo bolt but those are cheap...excellent, cheap upgrade.

    Marc, Rob,
Thank you for your posts, some quality information there. I pulled off the connectors and linked them with a straightened paperclip as they were female. Turned on the ignition and she lit up, so it's just the switch thats faulty.

    Thanks,
    Blade.

and if you are checking continuity with a multimeter MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT the battery! an ohm meter will go pop very quickly if you dont! ops:

    cheers

    Check the wiring first.
Pull the connectors off the front switch and with the ignition on simply touch them together. If the brake light comes on then its the switch if not then a cabling fault somewhere. If its cabling then it will probably be out with the multi-meter checking for continuity in the cabling.

    HTH,
    Marc

Front brake lever won't activate brakelight

    Hello hawk/bros fans,
My brake light won't activate when the front brake lever is depressed but will when the rear lever is. I am asuming I need to replace the lever switch but is there anything I need to check before I buy one.

    Thanks.
Working...
