VFR wheel almost ready to go but:

My vfr wheel is powder coated black.
My spindle/stub has been reduced in size.
I am about to open up the holes for the wheel studs to 12mm.
But i read that the hole needs to be chamfered??
which side and by how much and why.
What size tyre do all you guys recommend 180 or less.

    Cheers.

    Hi mate,
I will be doing a similar thing soon but tbh dont know the answers to your questions.
From either this forum or Ryans one I believe that the studs are the same as on Honda cars but I cant recall the correct model.

    HTH,

    Marc

      I got it sorted thanks.
The chamfer goes on the back side of the plate. (the button side).
The wheel and spindle is getting fitted today at my local garage at the same time he is doing my MOT.
Just in time for my first rally of the season.

      Cheers for the reply.

I wouldn't really go wider than a 170 on the hawk unless you're just looking for "appearance". If you're only after the look and are willing to compramise handling, then go for a 190.

I stuck with the 170. I had read on various web sites regarding potential problems with anything bigger and because I am a biker more than a poser (We all still love the looks we get) and I am changing the shock & front end I played it safe.

          Thanks for the reply.
