Hmm... does the light turn on if you "tilt" the bike to the left with the handlebars straight? Or does it light on when you tilt the bike to the left turning the handlebars to the left? Because if it happens when you turn the handlebars to the left, it is probably a wiring problem/loose connection/loose bulb housing. You might need to trace the wiring to see if this is the problem.
It's not going to be a 5 min fix.You know your a hawkaddict when you check ebay and craigslist every hour for parts to upgrade

Down near the gear change on the gearbox there is a wire that goes to a switch. These switches do go faulty, easy to change just unbolts.
Just thought if this wire is shorted to the chasis (I haven't confirmed this)and the neutral light comes on then its the switch. Otherwise check the bulb"Life may begin at 40, but it doesn't get real interesting until about 150."

It is possible that the bulb is burnt but the filiment touches sometimes and lights up. This happened on one of my turn signal bulbs. If you shake the bike does the light come on when its off or off when its on?
Just a thought. Probably not much help.-God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they annoyed me.
