Threw two disc bolts need some help

last night on the way home from a ride out two bolts worked loose from my front disc.
Chewed up a chunck of fork leg and caliper bracket.
All as I was overtaking....scared me shitless.
I got RAC home and tonight started the repairs.
Caliper bracket and fork leg need replacing but will last till the end of the season.
Removed/replaced all the bolts, re-locktightend them.
However 1 bolt appears not to want to go back in.
Can I clean the threads in the wheel with a tap i.e. re tap the thread.
I am due to go on a bike rally this weekend. all bolts are tight with that 1 bolt missing. its only 60 miles to the rally will I be OK with the 1 bolt missing.
    Any ideas

I would say drill out the bolt hole and put a helicoil or timesert in the wheel and call it good. I would be comfortable riding a bike with that repair.

Having said that I remember a bunch of the TZ250 guys used to use every other mounting bolt on their rotors (3 bolts per rotor) in an attempt to save weight.

My feelings regarding heading out for a voluntary ride (we're not talking about trying to get home) with a missing bolt from a motorcycle with a solid mounted sigle front disc is this... is it worth the risk it? We like having you around.

        Thats a top idea
Do you know what size hole i need to drill and what size helicoil.
By the way I have twin discs on the front and thanks for loving me....love you too

Going to the ralley with the one missing bolt shouldn't be a problem. Check the tightness of the others when you get there. Fix it as soon as you can.

            scary!!
were those bolts actually locktited the last time you installed them and still loosened up??

if so, something just doesn't make sense here!
