    eccentric bearing carrier

The on line parts fiche (http://hawkworks.net/hawkfiche) does not show an inner seal on the sprocket side but the (http://hawkworks.net/manual) on line manual does, which is correct.

Reason, my bearings are shot, I've taken the carrier off, know want to order but this inner seal has me stumped.

There is something floating around in there loose, it could be part of the bearing case or part of this seal.

    the bike is a nt400 nc25 bros 88

Well kiwi you're more of a hawk owner than you know......I think youve just experienced Rear hub bushing desintigration(you might wanna see a doctor about that...sorry, cant help it...... ).... The rear hub(Honda calls it "cush drive") is what the rear sprocket is attached to, there are big rubber inserts inside that assembly that cushion the power from th engine to the rear wheel. Theyre rubber so a Hawk from 88' to 90' would probably have very dry/brittle rubber by now...sorry, Im computer illiterate so I cant do the link thing but go to www.canyonchasers.com and there is detail instruction on the procedure( Its easy).......Ive done this procedure cause my bushings turned into powder in the first week of ownership but it only took an hour for me to replace.....

I always just replace the whole damn thing, it is ~$120 for the eccentric with bearings/seals and everything, ready to install. If you buy the bearings/seals separately, it ends up being more than half the cost of the whole thing, plus you have the hassle of getting the bearings swapped, AND you still have the manky spanner teeth that somebody prev. bodged with a screwdriver!

                damn my prayer worked

Thanks JD, Ive already looked into that but here in NZ the cost of a complete replacement makes my bank manager (read wife) tremble with fear.

And yes there is evidence of a screw driver cowboy. The correct tool is in the supplied tool kit with the bike also.
