think I found a newer bike front end thats cheaper

I just eyeballed so Im not sure if its 43mm but my hawk was parked next to it.... the new 07' CB599 has double disks wider rim and because it's an obviously heavier bike the spring and valve rate should be stiffer. Anyone know about it?it looked like the forks should slide into the hawks tree. The length looked the same......

    Hawks have 41mm forks.

That would be great- I like the look of the stock hawk headlight and instrument cluster and it seems like many of the front end mods require them to be changed (speedo cable issues)- it would be great if honda did this in a way that gives the hawk/bros a new front end option w/o having to deal with the speedo issue.
I have found the stock front brake to be plenty enough for the street. I think it could benefit from a metal braided brake line. But the stock forks are soft...

Do a search on "vapor" and you'll find a bunch of threads about them.

Vapor are the digital speedo/gauges of choice around here it seems. Hit search under the front wheel of the hawk at the top of this page, type in vapor and a bunch of threads will come up- most are not about the vapor (threads where people list their mods will come up) but some of them refer to questions specifically about it. You'll also see various options for making new dashes to hold the unit. I don't know what they cost.

Only 1 problem, the 599's forks might be 41mm but they are USD 41mm and won't slide into the Hawk's triples. You would have to fit the 599's triples as well.

As far as digi speedos go, I use a Sigma BC800. It's intended for bicycles but will read up to 100mph, IIRC (maybe it was intended for Lance Armstrong's bicycle?) - ridiculously easy to install. I'll post pics of it installed on the Hawk.

                            And it cost me $15.

umm, by "eyeballed" do you mean "i read online that they had the same dia forks"??

because they have inverted forks.. if you just glanced at it, with a hawk next to it, they would look huge in comparison.

btw, theres no way in hell any 07 bike frontend is going to be cheaper then some of the older ones.
