F2 front end: to shim or not to shim... that is the question

    Hi,
So I decided to finally go full f2 front end, forks and all (thx Jason). My question is to those of you who have f2 forks (complete or at least the bottoms), with an F2 front wheel/rim, and twin rotors. Did you guys use the damping shims that go between the rotors and rim? I read that they are just paper/cardboard washers. The reason why I ask is b/c all parts stores want at least $2.25/ shim (I need 12 for two rotors). That is SUPER expensive for pieces of paper that I am guessing really just dampen vibration right?
The problems I see with not using them is:

-When fastening on the rotor to the rim, the spacing is different (the rotor is slightly inwards w/o shims) and this might not agree with the brake calipers on assembly of the calipers to the forks... i.e. clearance issue with the rotor and brake pads/caliper.

-There might be vibration??? This might be bad to the rotor mounting bolts or work free the loctite??? (Although I am using an F2 rim w/ stock rotor and it is perfectly fine... so far )

Anywhoo.... any help or advice would be awesome
    Thank you!

after a few tire changes i lost a few and said "fuck it"
    never noticed a diffrence

    your first issue:

the rotors are fixed so the calipers float paper shims wont effect that.

    your second issue:

with the green loctite on the bolts and you tourque down those bad boys to spec you wont have a problem.
you might have a problem getting them off later on

    my 2 cents
    enjoy
