A good speedo question

Say I put a 06 600rr front end on my hawk.. would it be possible to use the 600rr speedo (digital) and keep my stock tach? I like the look of the stock pods on the front end. Thought I could try to fit the speedo screen into the stock pod ansd have it plug strait up to my front end.

Don't think so...

I think that the 600RR speedo is electronic - picks up off the transmission.
I'm sure that some one who knows for sure will chime in...
