Excluding the obligatory jetting + air filter + pipe. What engine mods have you made and what was the performance gain?
Blade.
I didn't do the work (like this when I bought it.)
Big bore kit with JE Pistons (697cc??)
Megacycle 153x1 cams ("street cam")
I was told this, but I don't know if the crank was balanced or if it has stronger rods ( I need to ask the PO) I just assume it was done right.
Then again I have never ridden another hawk so I can't say what kind of improvement there is. I could have been lied to I suppose but for $2100 I still think I got a good deal.

"I'd rather ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow."
hmmm.. I didn't do them but here's what's been done on mine:
JE 700cc pistons (3mm over)
crower ti rods
oversize valves
kibblewhite springs and ti retainers
Megacycle X8 cams with adj. sprockets
39mm flatslides
10,200 rpm box
rear cylinder cooling mod
total loss electrical system but with starter retained
Elton Fish ported heads
Falicon billet crank
HiPerform under seat exhaust w/ open meg
so far it's been pretty fun to ride. it's track only at this point and I have to run race gas (high octane). also has a massive radiator I think is from a ZX7RR. I need to do some work on it and I hope to race it sometime this year. but it's fun on track days.
Hey, Doc, did you buy that Hawk on eBay about two years ago? Does it have a pair of stripes decal running down the center of the fender and tank? It was this awesome orange color like yours...
Doc, Speedy,
Thanks for your posts, I'm pretty stock myself but find the subject interesting. At some point I would like to get a clean Bros 400, swap the motor for a bored out 840cc africa twin, with cam, valve, rod and crank work.
