mini indicators

hello could anyone tell me if it is possible to wire indicators the wrong way.i've just got new ones and they work either way.the new wires are black,and black/white

I seem to remember when i replaced my rear ones with flush mounts they only worked one way.

Check the now indicator and see which wire connects to the "metal can"(not the little pin on the very bottom) on the base of the bulb, this should go to the bike ground which on a Hawk should be the Green wire. The center contact of the bulb should connect to the Orange (Left) or Light Blue (Right) wire.
