    Fuel Pump relocation

I've asked this question before but has anyone moved their fuel pump
from its normal postion to the postion shown in the photo. I only ask as I'm thinking of moving mine but it looks a bit of a squeeze, plus does the
tab on the underside of the seat still fit betweem pump and crossmember?
I dont want to use zip ties.
If anyones got some pictures of this mod please post them. Thanks

I relocated mine, once, and have since relocated it to stock.
I did not know it would fit where you have it pictured, but that does seem
to be a great place for it! Is that where yours is?

Well I was going to locate it there but there is a lug underneath the seat
that locates underneath where the tank bolts to.
I 've been looking at the Africa Twin / Transalp forums and they have
had loads of problems with their pumps. They have used Mikuni vacuum pumps , Facet solid state pumps, Pierburg pumps. They do have alot more
choice of where to bolt them.

I think that photo is my old red hawk. I had one of the first left exit exhaust systems made by Jim Davis (aka Hawk connection). I had to move the fuel pump to fit the exhaust...

          here's a few other photos:

it was pretty simple. I ran it like that for maybe 20k miles including a year or two of racing and never had any fuel issues.

I would bet that somewhere in the hawkgt.com archives is a listing of what I did...

but yeah it works great there.

The seat has a lug that locates where the pump is. Did you cut the lug
off or is there enough room for it to fit above the pump?

it fits in there fine. like I said I relocated mine and ran it for a long time with no issues. I had to redo the hoses but other than that I don't remember if being difficult.
