    Seat question

The stock seat of the Hawk is rumoured to be it`s weak point. it tends to break off off after a while. (ask GTR647 )

and my ass starts hurting after a while on the stock seat. so I was wondering; what after market seats are availble that just bolt up on the excisting mounting points? I don`t want to rebuild half my Hawk to mount another seat. so are there any seats that just bolt up on the original subframe?
What was the start of all this?
When did the cogs of my Hawk begin to turn?
Perhaps it is impossible to grasp the answer now,
from deep within the flow of time...

But, for a certainty, back then,
I loved it so much, yet hated so many.
I hurt others and was hurt myself...

Yet even then, I rode like the wind,
    whilst my laughter echoed
    under cerulean skies...

I very much doubt it. You'd still be left with something that is fugly unless you're handy with plastics anyway.

I'd disagree that the Hawk is uncomfortable anyway, as it goes, but totally agree that maintaining the rear plastics is a right royal PITA. I still think that the Hawk rear end is one of the prettiest on a bike of that era (and since come to that).

      The seat or the cowl?

Corbin makes a couple seats for the Hawk that "bolt" right up...

well, both actually. sorry, I should have been more clear about that.

Corbin eh? I`ve heard the name. I`ll see if I can dig something up.

3 problems with Corbin: very expensive, significantly taller than original, much heavier.

I hate the stock seat. The corbin does make you feel a little more "perched" on top, but it means no sliding into the tank!

That was one of my worries also. the faster ass-adjusting becomes impossible when a seat is too broad.
