    Stuck at work???

Yesterday I got stuck at work, my hawk wouldn't start. I turn the key ON, and I have no electrical, either the batery is dead or it can't connect it self to the system. I just can't figure it out the only thing I can think, is that the bike did not like the heavy rain we had.

Any of you have experience with the Hawk elect. system?

    Thanks
Its not gone yet and I already regret selling it.

Did you engage the steering lock and inadvertently activate the parking light and thus drain the battery? It is easy enough to do this on a sunny day, you won't notice the brake light shinning, unlikely though as you said it was raining.
It's a good idea to remove the battery cover in advance, for the dead battery scenario.

    Blade.

had a problem like this with my girfriends 400, it turned out to be the main fuse next to the startor solinoid it had gummed up big time. the actual fuse holder comes apart and i soaked the copper bits in vinegar and gave them a good clean up! its been 100% ever since! HTH!

This weekend I'll check if the bat. is being charged properly, clean up the kill switch and charge the bat. over night.

When you turn the key past the steering lock position and engage the parking light can you pull the key out of the ignition switch?

Some how I don't think the bat. is the problem, ever since I pull the bike out of winter storage it was starting fine. It may be a finger problem like you guy's are saying.

          Thanks for your suggestions.

Checked every things on my hawk and all is fine, so my conclusion is that the newb turned the ignition switch in the park position and left for the day. Sorry for the trouble guy's ops:
