great idea for a kickstand

Does anyone have any tricks for a sidestand? I need to lengthen mine and am looking for options of just replacing it with something nicer...

Carry a hockey puck.

Seriously? Drill two holes in the foot and screw in a block of wood, block of aluminum, lego brick, whatever. Someone from the listserve did this with a block of wood, worked nice. Painted and everything.

Go to a machine shop and pick up a piece of mild steel in the thickness you need...trace out the shape of the foot on it, grind away, and then have a welder weld it on...it would take hime less than 5 min to weld it...then you paint it and presto...like factory

Thanks for the input guys. But really I was looking for something trick, I am a welder and was at the last resort going to cut and lengthen the stock sidestand, really looking for something to adapt, maybe aluminum like on that produkt three bike...
