    Radial Tires

    Hello,
I'm new here & to the hawk. I just picked up a used hawk as a learner bike for my sons. It could use new tires and it has old bias-plys on it. Is it OK to put radials on it? Thre front rim is pretty narrow; will it need to be replaced?

    Thanks for the input.

110 is tire size for stock wheel if you switch to an f2 front wheel you get to run 120 much more common size.

the stock from rim is 2.5" so a 110/70-17 will fit without too much problem. I would not recommend a 120/60-17 on the front unless you run a wider (3.5" rim) from an F2 or VFR wheel.

on the rear a 160/60-17 will fit with no issues on the stock 4.5" wheel. this is the most common sizes that are fit on the hawk and most modern sporting rubber comes in these sizes...

      enjoy!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll track down a F2 front wheel.
