Rear shock -- CBR 900 rebuildable?

Like a lot of Hawk owners, I have a modified CBR 900 rear shock installed.

Has anyone tried to rebuild one of these things? The reservoir has a cap, but it looks like it can be removed with a little effort. Is there a Schraeder valve underneath to adjust the pressure? Is it all worth it? Any prevoius experience out there would be appreciated.
    Cheers!

I have not rebuilt my 900rr shock (god knows it needs it)

I am told they really aren't that much of an improvement and I should get a Penske ($700!)

I guess I am passing that on to you.
