no rear brake...

Ive been noticing quite a few bike with no rear brake, I understand the physics behind braking, but Im suprised to see guys tossing it. There are definate reasons/situations to have a rear brake.

Any ideas? Anyone not have one?

I had actually thought about losing mine when its time to do the rear end mods i have planned. For two reasons the cool "see through" look, as there will be nothing obstructing the view through the wheel, and I never use it.

I think the rear brake can be VERY useful at times. I wouldn't remove it.

I'd highly recommend keeping it, on the street there have been times when I've used the rear as primary and the front only minimally (think wet leaves). On the track it's very useful should you have an off-track excursion (think about needing to slow down from 80 mph on grass with those nice slick race-tires, the rear brake is much friendlier than the front in this situation).

Looking cool is great, but removing safety equipment is just plain stupid.

I don't get it either, I use my rear brake a LOT. It helps to keep the bike from diving too much in hard braking. Plus how else can I stretch and not roll at stoplights?

These have been my thoughts, any low traction braking situation it is needed... Even on(off) the track...

Really doesnt seem like a good idea to me...
