  • F3 Gas tank - Will it fit?

    Hi all,

I'm a little disappointed with the size of the fuel tank and I was wondering if anyone had transplanted a F3 tank onto the Hawk before. I know w lot of part are interchangeable but could I do this with minimal mods to the tank?

Also, does anyone have pictures of how the F3 tank sits on the Hawk chassis? I don't want to go and do all this work and then see a big gap between the tank and the frame.

    Thanks.
    Yellafella

I have a Superhawk tank on my Hawk. I love the look and feel of it personally.

          +1!
After jetting and doing everything else to my bike im sure my gas mileage will suffer, i'd like to be able to make it closer to 200 miles on a tank than 100. Dont know if I will ever change my tank over..but..

I actually owned that hawk for a while. It's my dad's bike now. I really didn't care for the f2 tank mod. It's wider than the hawk frame for one thing, and the lower seam will show no matter how you mount it. Also, it doesn't fit with the seat at all. The seat on that hawk had had the front trimed off where it would normally fit around the back of the hawk tank. I'd look for another tank that fits the hawk frame and seat better. Or look into having a fabricator make yours bigger. I ended up with a carbon tank, but that was just a stroke of luck. I like the VTR tank idea too.
