What kind of radiators have you seen on a Hawk?

The reason that I'm asking all of you this is because I have been running a F2 radiator on my Hawk w/ no problems until I decided to go w/ some new upper and lower fairings. Although the F2 radiator is not much larger than the stock, I'm having clearance issues w/ it's width (only by about 1 inch on each side).

Does anyone have any suggestions for a radiator that is maybe a little thinner in the width, but maybe taller to make up for it? I'm not having any problems w/ the thickness of it...

I've heard of people running GSXR radiators; not sure of the year though, and they would seem to be even wider than the F2...? My stock radiator would work fine but due to the mods that I have done, I'm worried about over heating.

You should go to Maberacing.com and ask. Bunch of racers there that might know better than I.

I think they run F3 radiators (I have one coming). the hawkgt.com faq had good info, I think the site is down right now though.

I was thinking/planning K6 Gixxer but stumbled onto a cheap ZX636 rad. Fits nice and definitely cools the beast. I think the max width is about 15" but I'll have to check.

I'm pretty sure someone over at mabe uses a 916 radiator. Oh the choices!

If you don't have a kitted motor you could run the stock rad.

Unfortunately, the stock rad won't cut it because of the engine mods (700cc kit & many others...).

I'll check the width on the stock one tonight. The GSXR one may be the route to go.

Hord, how well does the 636 fit? Do the inlet and outlet line up somewhat decent?

What mod do you have to do to the gsxr radiator to make it fit?

Pretty decent. Take a slight amount of fab/spacer work on the top mount but other than that, pretty simple. I first used a piece of U hose on the top/right to make the connection but now I've just cut/welded the spigot for a straight shot into the rad like stock. I'll try to get pics sometime but the bike is in pieces right now.

hum this might sound to simple but i think its the best
a mid 80s magna rad works great

same width same hight but twice the depth of a stock hawk
top mount works same as stock
i made some brackets to mount my stock fan
inlet is the same as stock
and outlet is simple (my opinion it better than stock)
trip to local parts store and find a hoes with a 80-90 deg. bend to make the turn (outlet is strait not like the 90 deg stock outlet)
put it all back together and your finished

in cold wheather 50-60 deg i have to tape off some of it just to get the engine temp up. and my problem with stock rad heating the engine up in traffic was completly gone after i changed it out

hum not good ones of the rad

those are old and the best i got with the bike together
i do have the rad sitting around i could snap a few shots of it if you want
save the second pic and try to zoom in and you could see the rad hoes
o and you can see the fill cap it doesnt get in the way but you cant really use it either

I also had a Ducati 996/748/916 radiator on my Hawk previously. It worked with my Sharkskinz R1 fairing.
