Chain rust: Is a little bit reparable, or is the chain shot?

I recently rode my bike through a couple of days of wet roads, and noticed today that though the sideplates were pretty clean, there was a little ground-up rust around the rollers. (There had been none up to this point). Should I clean the chain with solvent and re-lube it, or just apply more lube? Or is any rust a sign of death for the chain, O-rings, etc?
I've been using Maxima Chain Wax, by the way.

Just clean it and wax it. It'll be fine. These things aren't made of glass.

Everytime I seem to ride in the rain the same thing happens to me. Just as isaac said, clean it, wax it and ride. What we need is a thread to start up again on the belt drive system to nix the current chain set up. That would be sweet for sure.

You could use parts off an Ascot for a shaft drive....?

Does the Ascot have some sort of removable drive shaft output adapter on the engine?

Could have sworn you had the requisite bike to check. Go take a look and report back.
