    rear springs

i know this is something thats been covered 100 times before but i just want to get a cencus from you guys my self

a hawk damper and a 929 spring is the ideal set up if your not going after market. right??? im putting the street hawk together and dont see spending the money on after market. and also im a big hawk rider at 6'6" 260

im going to post a picture later today and i want to ask you guys about a spacer on my hawk spring. im thinking it might be after market but not sure. never noticed it before, i stripped the bike down last month. previous owner had f2 front end with progressive internals and i think they might have added that thing too. he used it has a track bike.

and last but not least finish options for the spring i want to go chrome. but with the flexing and so forth will that stuff eventually flake off?
i have the same concern for powder coats and paints does it have to be a special product that will flex with the spring long after the cure time is over??? or am i over thinking this stuff?

Most people go with a CBR900 damper, and the original Hawk spring, with a spacer. The Hawk spring (I belive) has a larger spring rate (1300lbs / inch) than the 929. If you are a bigger fellow, that is opposite of where you want to be. You may also want to consider other springs with higher rates like 1400 or 1500.

--- Or just get a $$$ aftermarket and they set it for your weight and ridding style.

Powder coating is actually colored flecks of statically charged plastic, then melted onto the part. It should be pretty forgiving to being flexed. Call a local powder coater to check it out. They'll give good free advice if you may have business for them.
-I'm sorry....I did not know she was your sister.
-If Buckleys cold mixture went rancid......how would anybody know????
-Dont piss off the quiet guy with the chain saw.

i thought about getting a heaver rated spring there not bad around 100 just for the spring but im just looking to get the most out of what i got now if it was going on a track bike i would pull the wallet out.
