  • Fuel filter screen

The fuel tap (petcock) I have available has no internal screen. I was hoping to use one from a broken Revere tap I have, but the length and diameter are too great.

As I'm planning to line the (somewhat rusty) tank, I'm tempted to leave it out and not worry about it. Does that sound prudent or stupid? Otherwise I can get a complete assembly (presumably Chinese) for GBP56 (!) at Wemoto, or cheaper here (even including shipping from the US).

    Thanks

Update: I've just taken advice from someone in the Bros FB group who has done this very thing. Apparently the Ebay part is not a good fit. I've ordered the Honda part from Wemoto

Yes, its because the Hawk petcock is more a pipe thread type rather than most other bikes that have a bolt on approach. It limits the adaptability of other models to the Hawk unfortunately. There are rebuild kits out there and I think in the way back time of the original forums there was a write up with some photos but unfortunately they may have gone away due to a problem with lost data.
