  • EBC clutch kit... why 6 not 7?

I'm replacing the 36 yr old clutch and ordered the EBC Street Racer set and it's only got 6 plates versus the original 7, now this is not including the thinner front plate with the judder springs. So now I'm confused... put in the 6 or stick in one of the olds to make 7???

    Thanks in advance
    Rob

It's been a really long time since I have done the clutch but I don't remember there being a different number of plates in my EBC kit. I think I would remember that.

i would think you should have received the small clutch pad. You will reuse the judger spring.

On my VF500Fs which have the smaller clutch disk, judder spring and seat, the Barnett kits would replace those with an extra fiber disk.

I guess I would order just the OEM smaller friction disk.

Edit: Shit, I guess you need 7 standard disks! That's just stupid then. So another OEM too I guess if you already have the EBC kit. Dumb.

Ok to clarify. The kit came with a total of 7 friction disks that is including the outer disk for the judder spring and the bike has 8 total including the disk for the judder. I guess I need to measure the thickness of them.
