at least call a locksmith and get a quote...

I think I paid a locksmith $30 to remove my key fragment after an earlier wreck. he used something like a flexible drill bit (no drill) and just worked the fragment out... after seeing him do it I wished I'd tried with a bent sewing needle or something. he made it look easy.

    my $.02

I would be too -- is there such a thing as a motorcycle locksmith? Maybe it's time for a new ignition switch. Or a remote keyless starter... !

Broke at about the middle of the key..after the wreck my friend found the top of the key and put it in to turn the bike off. It wont move anymore..I think glue my solve it, I am just worried about it messing it up more.

I dont need a key to get my seat off anymore....But i do need it to start (when i dont have it taken apart) and to get my gas..But i have extra keys. So really, its just the ignition..I think I will try glue and see if i can get it to come out..unless anyone else has any ideas?

remember that unless you saw it off of the subframe (like I did, to clean up the rear-end looks), that key also gets your seat off! And there's lots of important stuff you'll need to access in there.

Incidentally, if you do saw it off, use a dremel cutting wheel - it's easiest - and make SURE you leave the little button at the end of the pull-wire intact. You just yank it to spring the seat, and it stays out of sight.

Try to stay away from a lot of glue, and Gorilla glue is just something else... One drop of Krazy glue should do it; make sure it sets awhile. Just don't gunk anything up in there, whatever you do, or you'll have a lot more problems than just a broken key.

See if you can solder it together or something, and then have a key made?

    Key broke in ignition

Well, My key is broken off in my ignition and I just started thinking about it. Can I replace the ignition with one out of an F2 or whatever? direct swap as long as I get a key? Any ideas on how to get it out? I was pondering just using some gorilla glue on the part of the key i still have..
    ANy other ideas?
Working...
