  • Hawk Headlamp fitment vs. Revere

    Hi All,

Having finally received my Honda Hawk which started life in the US, then went to Holland and now the UK, it is clear it’ll be a laugh a minute to convert to UK spec. Currently the bike comes with the indicators rigged up as day time running lights and no sidelight in the headlamp. To confirm to UK spec I think it has to have a side light in the headlamp in order to pass its MOT.
so I’m wondering if I can fit a headlamp inner from a Revere or a Bros, both of which I think have a fitment for a sidelight in the headlamp shell. I’m then thinking I can run one of the daylight running light wires to this so it’s on permanently.
Anyone know about swopping over Headlamp inners, swopability with Revere or Bros (the bit that holds the bulb) or having done a UK sidelight conversion to a US imported Hawk ?

Haven't been able to see them back to back, but I would imagine it's not a hard swap.
Don't spend money and buy, spend time and learn.

I don’t think you need any new bits. l don’t think there is any legal requirement to have a separate parking light bulb. The Bros headlamp only has the one bulb in any case. If there is parking light position on the switch you can wire that so that it turns on the dip beam. The Bros comes with the indicators on all the time as a Japanese market feature. It can be easily removed.

As Dr PMC ,indicators are just a rework job, and I’m pretty sure he’s right you don’t need a sidelight, but if you want one there is a side light position on the switch and you could carefully drill your reflector and fit a bulb holder. That’s what I did to mine,
