  • Diaphragm spring supplier

    Hi All,

Getting well stuck into my carbs at the moment and one of the things I noticed is that the diaphragm springs are slightly different lengths. I’ve just fitted new diaphragms and wondered whether I should treat it to new springs as well bearing in mind their age.

Alas the appear to be unobtanium.

Would you leave as is, stretch and bake them or otherwise ?

    As always appreciative of assistance

I would leave it. I stretched and baked mine many years ago and they have settled into 2 different lengths also. Never noticed any problem because of it.

Don't sweat it. Stretch them into some new equal length, and next time they'll be something different. Years ago I played with a variety of slide springs on the dyno. Lengths, rates, etc. Didn't really amount to much.
