  • Jet Needle washer...yes or no?

The manual section 4-11 implies there is a washer on the needle. The parts fiche does not show this. My Factory Pro stage 2 kit says install washer on new needles IF present (Implying a washer may or may not be present). This will affect needle height either way. HELP!

washers are used to adjust midrange throttle response and to tune out flat spots after the best jetting has been determined. the oem setup has one thin washer, and others may be added for tuning. the jetkit needles usually have 4 or 5 grooves, and with those needles the kit washers adjust 1/2 step.

you may need to snip the tit on the needle retainer cap when using washers but leave enough to hold the spring.
