  • Factory stage 3 jet kit, Remus exhaust can and pods

Hi folks, I have the above and am thinking of going with pods but needing to know if they will affect low to midrange power or is it a gain across the rev range?

Better breathing across the entire range.

Sounds great, it's better torque and power across the same rev range or is it all shifted higher-up the rev range?

I fitted jet/needle kit and pods Hubert, it does improve performance right through the rev range, May need a bit of fiddling to get things just right.I took my bike to Paul our local Dyno man and we set it up together. Runs sweet as now, pulls well for a 650. You also get the benefit of loosing that awful air filter housing.

That's a great thumbs up from you, Rob. I'll do that, it will make for tweaking the carbs so much easier without having to take the airbox off.

          Cheers

More air, more fuel, more better, more places.

            You won't regret it

It’s on my list as well, pods and stage3 kit and Mikuni vacuum pump. I spent a lot of time last winter overhauling the carbs, I’m just slightly hesitant to start !

Lots details on the forum regarding carb settings,I ran with the stage 3 and pods, but I stay with the stock pump because I’ve never had a problem with it the 34 years I have owned it.

I am just about to undertake fitting the stage 3.0 kit and pods. Can I ask if it’s a straight forward replace and fit or do you have to mod any parts please ? Read somewhere about altering the needle settings, may well be wrong

Easy as can be. The only mod I can think of is drilling out the caps over the pilot screws if it has not already been done.

That’s great, thanks for coming back to me. I’ve already drilled out the caps when I rebuilt the carbs last year

it's better to try grasping the screw cover with pliers and pulling and rocking it out so the whole thing is removed. leaving what's left of the cover in place can make removing the mixture screw difficult or impossible imo.
