8E892106-B535-4586-9629-C34446D2F7F4.jpg So fresh carb rebuild by a well respected Honda tech all stock settings. The tanks was cleaned and the filter is fresh.
First couple of rides the bike stumbled for 5-10 mins then ran great. Now the bike has no power struggles to maintain speed in 5th gear.
I tested for spark I have spark.
I have fuel in the bowls, at least there is when I check them.
I have not checked the fuel pumps actual output.

Here are pictures of 2 the plugs. the lighter one is reddish tan and darker than it appears in the photo.

THIS IS GREAT . more riders need to show plug photos when they're having running problems.

the color mid way between those would look best i believe. . one may be too lean, the other too rich or.........? what gap did you set, and how many miles ? try switching the plugs f/r and ride again.

a low mph limit says one cylinder ain't cookin. bay-bee. hard to go wrong with stock jetting, right ? issit stock, you checked?

Is this a CA bike or 49-state version? If CA bike, check, double-check & triple check all the connections and then proceed to rip all that crap off.

      Carbs sync'd?

Check for vacuum leaks with some starter fluid while it is running.

I've recently rebuilt a set of carbs on a bike that sat a long time (9+ years), had everything clean as a whistle, then stupidly forgot to flush fuel lines & pump and immediately plugged a pilot jet, leading to round two of pulling the carbs. Not sure what your starting point was before having the carbs rebuilt, but if you do pull them again, remove the float bowls and confirm the float heights, which can also lead to lean/rich conditions if not set correctly (even pros make mistakes on occasion).

Specify what symptoms your bike is exhibiting - what is wrong - then you'll get some meaningful feedback. Plugs suggests one side is running lean the other rich...

Don't make big changes - Go back to basics - step by step - Look up the shop manual available on the site and follow directions. Return it to stock settings and heed the comments.

Lots of threads here on carb rebuild + recommended settings - if you bother to look.

Did you put new carb boots on when the carbs where rebuilt? Air leak could do that. Jetted too rich to try and make up for the vacuum leak on the lean hole.

my guess is that the lean plug cylinder isn't workin so focus there first.

New boots, new hose, checked for vacuum leaks (spay test), 49 state bike, plugs gapped at 0.35,

symptoms won’t hold power, backfiring on decelerating, back firing occasionally at low rpm.

im going to check the slides for freedom of movement again the were good when i put the carbs on. Then take it back to Honda to re-check the carbs.

^^ do the standard check on slides by blowing air into the 1/2" black tubes next to vacuum chamber and watching for the slide to lift. focus on the lean cylinder.

how many turns on the mixture screws ?
